Wines of the Month
Prices listed by Glass, Bottle

Francis Ford Coppola, "Moscato," 2010

A bright, juicy rosé enlivened by flavors of apricots, lime zest and cloves. A small amount of Alicante Bouschet added to give wine a lovely pink hue. 2010 was an ideal vintage for the debut release of our Moscato because it was a particularly late, cool season, which is great for this varietal. With the lighter than normal crop came very rich, concentrated fruit.

Those who've never tried Moscato are in for a delicious surprise. Highly fragrant and lusciously fruity, our Moscato offers a beautiful perfume of pears, pineapple and orange
blossoms followed by light, delicate flavors of apricots, lime and clove. Fermented and finished in stainless steel to capture pure, sweet fruit impressions, this unique rosé can be enjoyed as an apertif or with a variety of hors d'oeuvres as well as after dinner sweets, soft cheeses or fresh fruit.

$9.00, $36.00

Rodney Strong, "Knotty Vines," Estate Zinfandel 2009

Fresh, bright berry fruit from our heritage Russian River vineyard combined with the ripe peppery jamminess from our Alexander Valley vineyards make for wonderful diversity of flavor showcasing the best that zinfandel can offer in one wine. Aging for 16 months in French and American oak enhances the zinfandel's inherent spicy qualities, while the ebullient fruit of this medium rich wine suggests enjoyment over the next 2 to 4 years.

Sonoma County's potential for excellence was the reason Rodney Strong Vineyards was founded and we continue to fulfill the promise of this exceptional land. Our approach is for the grapes from each vineyard and growing region to express their intrinsic character in the special wines we craft. Gentle handling, careful use of barrel and stainless steel fermentation, and proper oak aging are guided and monitored to enhance the natural characteristics of
our fruit.
